Property Description
Lots of people asks us about why we picked the name Aboriginal for our hostel, especially as we are located in Budapest, over fifteen-thousand kilometers away from the nearest Aboriginal.
The Aboriginal hostel houses us, backpackers like a tribe of nomads during our walkabout (= aboriginal journey, the original, nomad way of backpacking ;) .
A small community which offers a social atmosphere, a family of travelers, a place where you don't only come to sleep but to socialize with others and where you can have a memorable experience while you are here.
Although we are not a party hostel and we'd prefer if you wouldn't only watch TV and drinking beer all day as Budapest offers much more than that, we will still make you busy on finding not only the major sights but the hidden gems as well and show you around the best deals on meals and drinks even if you are on a tight budget.
Our hearty breakfast will make sure that you won't leave with grumbling stomach in the mornings and it won't tear your budget apart as it's absolutely included. We also thought about your other needs like FREE Internet to connect with your friends and family, FREE use of towels so you don't have to damp your own, FREE laundry for those who stay more than 3 nights and some other nice touches which make your stay more comfortable, like beds already made for you...
Our location is in a hip student district nestled between the downtown and the train station, so you can drop off your bags earlier, you won't get ripped off by the special, 'tourist prices' of downtown but you can enjoy better deals and still staying inside the city center. We are just few minutes away from the National Museum and about 15 minutes walk from the river side.
Besides the sights and recommendation, we also organize daily activities which whether involves food, drinks, games or some ridiculous reason for a get together.
Note: Our policy is what we offer you get, we don't make our prices ridiculously cheap and threat you with hidden charges but provide a quality service with all inclusive rates. We promise that you will get everything we offer.
We offer the following amenities:

Reviews & Ratings William from USA stayed here on 11th April 2010 one of the best hostel I have stayed at. great staff and open atmosphere. free breakfast and sometimes free lunch or dinner | Male 18-24 | sutaria5938 from USA stayed here on 05th April 2010 The hostel staff was very helpful and friendly. It was apparent that a great effort was made to transform the hostel into a home away from home for travelers from all over the world to come together and explore Budapest. I would definitely go back. | Female 25-30 | apolites04133238 from USA stayed here on 03rd April 2010 The staff here made my trip to Budapest what it was: amazing. Chobo...thanks for telling us where to go! and Cindy, you are the sweetest. Seriously, this is a small hostel where the staff really get to know you and help you with anything you need. Only downside is the bathroom situation, but other than that...this place was clean, friendly, great english, and great atmosphere. I miss Gizmo the dog already! | Female 18-24 | jrf2365253 from USA stayed here on 10th May 2010 The host was really helpful! | Male 18-24 | Brian from USA stayed here on 11th May 2010 nice eggs csaba.. no more complaints for me | Male 18-24 | doubleblack1891 from USA stayed here on 11th May 2010 Excellent hostel! I had a great time with the other patrons, and the owner, Chubba, was very helpful and lots of fun. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time with good people. | Male 25-30 | Greg from USA stayed here on 02nd June 2010 The intimate setting was perfect for meeting new and interesting people. On top of the high level of cleanliness and safety that I experienced, Lena and Marcus were fantastic hosts. Plus they cooked goulash for all 20 us, what more can I say? | Male 18-24 | Jacob from USA stayed here on 12th June 2010 This was a great hostel. It felt like a big family. The staff was amazing, it was easz to get anywhere in the city with a tram and metro close by and lots of bars and places to eat within walking distance. Thanks Aboriginal Hostel! | Male 18-24 | mitchbanderson3804 from USA stayed here on 26th June 2010 This place was awful. Nothing else needs to be said. Not only that, but they said it was 15 minutes walk from the station. This was false, as it was more than a half an hour. Ive stayed in numerous hostels, and this was by far the worse. | Male 18-24 | elizabethanelso from USA stayed here on 24th June 2010 I would stay here again just for the shower even though u need to walk directly across the common room to get to it. Also...mirrors inside the changing cabins would be helpful. Wifi will frequently drop u for a minute or so. But overall, one of the better hostels in the city! Read Owner Comments | Female 18-24 |
